Wow I haven’t done one of these in a very long time! On Saturday, my grandma, my mom, and my friend Sara all went to the High Tea. It’s hosted by the Angels over Sandpoint and it consists off a three course tea, which different little biscuits, cookies, and finger sandwich each course. The tea is themed something ever year, this year it was themed the Kentucky Derby, and tickets always sell out fast. It wont come again until next year, but it’s always the first Saturday of May. Women, and sometimes the guys, dress up in their fanciest spring garden dresses, and accompany it with an enormous fascinator or hat. A fascinator in case you didn’t know, is a headpiece, sometimes a hat or headband, sometimes a mix of the two, which is used solely for decoration, and often is more than slightly over the top. They are very popular in England. The Angels Over Sandpoint whom host the tea, is a charity that raises money for those in need around our county. As all charities, some of the money goes towards those who run the non-profit, but the Angels do a number of marvelous things, such as filling backpacks with school supplies for kids who can’t afford them at back to school. The tea was lovely and so is the charity, so if you are in Sandpoint in May before the tea, you might consider coming.
